Department Of Kaumarbhritya
Introduction
Kaumarbhritya is one of the eight branches of Ashtang Ayurveda. It deals with the complete child care, the Ayurveda way. Ayurveda Paediatrics advocate optimum growth and development of children. Childhood is the foundation of future health. Therefore this subject holds its own importance in the curriculum. With qualified staff the department is well equipped to fulfill the responsibility on academic as well as clinical front.
Objectives
After studying the subject in third year, the BAMS students will be able to
- Understand the basic concepts of Kaumarbhritya and modern paediatrics
- Learn the importance of good child health and growth and development
- Acquire the skills of clinical child examination
- Know their role in paediatric health care as AYUSH doctor.
